I was approached by Ikos, an award winning design and creative studio based in Modena, Italy, to do an exhibition.

Bruno and Raffaella had the idea to call the exhibition “RICORDI” (memories), because they noticed I tend to have a story for each piece I make. Also, the tactile feel of my work and the resemblance with older ceramics may inspire to go through one’s memory.

They curated every detail so carefully, I was astonished when I first saw my own work, so well proposed.

In order to keep alive the sense of ceramics born to be used, they ordered a specific breakfast set for the event, which we designed together. Not just: it saw action for actual breakfasts, served on site during the exhibition, a very interesting way of keeping a close contact with the ceramic pieces.

Another very important aspect was the materioteca (materials library), in which I showed clays, glaze materials, self made tools, and gave a description of my approach to ceramics during artist talks.

It was an overall amazing experience, for which I am very grateful to every member of the Ikos team, and to the partners: Florc and Erbavoglio, Manfredini coffee and Selvatica Flower studio.
